Jiahui Health Launches Flagship Hospital and International MDT Platform in Shanghai, Partners with Massachusetts General Hospital

In Shangh, China's most dynamic city, Jiahui Health Network today announced its launch of a flagship hospital and an international multidisciplinary treatment MDT platform as the first of such offerings in Shangh. The growing demand for world-class medical services is now being met locally rather than seeking care overseas.

The collaboration with Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital MGH, a major teaching institution of Harvard Medical School, brings resources from this prestigious institution to Jiahui International Hospital. Beginning with oncology care, the MDT platform offers top-quality standards in process, quality, and patient care those at MGH.

On October 18th, before the official unveiling, a Cancer Patients and Families Conference was hosted by leading oncology experts from both Jiahui and MGH. Supported by an international team of specialists focused on gastrointestinal tumor care, they offered advice on patient management, mental health, nutrition, and helped over one hundred patients and their families confront cancer's emotional and social challenges.

The opening ceremony for the new facility, which includes Shangh’s first tertiary general international hospital after eight years in development, was celebrated by representatives from the city government including Vice-Mayor Weng Tiehui of Shangh and General Wu Jinglei of the Shangh Municipal Health and Family Planning Committee.

Shangh become an Asian medical hub through public health initiatives that enhance local capability and service through strategic partnerships with global healthcare leaders. This vision is reflected in Jiahui’s collaboration with MGH, as they have provided over 600 medical management trning opportunities for their staff since establishing ties three years ago.

The new hospital is currently led by David Cook from Mayo Clinic, a neurosurgeon John Hsiang and Dr. CS Chen are Chief Medical Officer and Executive Director of the Cancer Center respectively. A global pool of talent has been recruited to Jiahui, with over 100 foreign candidates being selected for various roles.

The hospital is designed by NBBJ, known for its innovative design approach that integrates healing elements into the architecture to enhance patients' comfort through natural light and green spaces. The healing concept focuses on patient care at both physical and mental levels.

In addition to the hospital services, Jiahui plans to open a wellness center next year in Jing’an district specifically for stressed professionals. This center will offer nutritional management, physical health monitoring, and mental wellbeing programs as part of their life-long disease prevention strategy.

Jiahui Health's mission is to provide integrated care through its international general hospital complemented by ambulatory centers and wellness facilities. By adopting a patient-centered service model guided by MGH, the goal is to ensure a smooth experience for patients from start to finish.

Incorporating insights from leading healthcare institutions worldwide, Jiahui streamline patient care processes such as intake procedures, pre-treatment consultations, routine testing, diagnosis, prescription management, and patient education.
